I know you do groupwise, and to be honest I haven't looked at it for a while, but have you looked at Scalix as a tie in too?
I suspect that the Groupware tie ins are not the highest priority, but as you've already gone down that route I thought I'd mention it.
Scalix is available as an Open Source / Community variant (as well as pay for) and already has it's own front ends for Outlook and Evolution. As you know Outlook already ties in / syncs with Sugar so we've already got a single in-sync data source. No doubt this could be improved no end. Scalix also uses an LDAP Address Book so the potential to link together is pretty big.
Personally if you could (with others if needed) develop the ultimate in Outlook and Thunderbird plugins so we're syncing, dialing, and updating in unison you have a big, big market share. Thunderbird as an example shows how this sort of thing can be done cross platform (See Plaxo and almost Sugarbird for SugarCrm).
A thought, if you haven't already had it. |

Scalix is definitely on our radar. We spoke to someone from the group briefly last March at Linux World San Francisco. It is definitely a conversation we would like to pick back up and start implementing.
We are on the same page with the idea of a complete solution that seemlessly combines voice, CRM, and email. Our next version of the Groupwise Integration does complete bi-direction synch of email, calendaring, and contacts with SugarCRM. Going the mail client plugin route is something we haven't looked at yet but should probably start. |

Good to know, spoke to them over her in the UK (Linux Expo) last November and mentioned the topic, double so as they use an ldap back end too, and they sounded keen, but of course there was the question of prioritising resources (Which Am sure you're all too familiar with).
